TAUMARUNUI SOLDIERS
ANZAC COMMITTEE MEETS A meeting of the Anzac Committee of the Taumarunui Returned Soldiers’ Association was presided over by Mr. Jas. Brown. It was decided that the annual reunion and annual general meeting should be held in September, on a date to be fixed by the secretary, Mr. Redfern. The committee discussed the Borough Council’s request to be allowed to place electric light standards on the Memorial Cross, and a sub-committee was set up to wait upon the council and put the returned men’s views on the matter before it. The matter of alterations and repairs to the monument was held over for decision at a later meeting of the Anzac Committee.
