DEATH OF MR. C. J. CARRINGTON
Mr. C. J. Carrington died this morning at the age of 83. The late Mr. Carrington was born at Wokingham, Reading, England, of an old yeoman family who had resided there for over 300 years. He was indentured to the engineering trade at Wolverhampton, and came out to the New Zealand Railways in 1875. Pie was attached to the department until his retirement in 1907. He lived in Auckland until a few years ago, when he went to reside in Dargaville with his eldest son, the Hon. C. J. Carrington, M.L.C. He is survived by three sons and four daughters. Mrs. Carrington predeceased him about a year ago and was buried at Taumarunui. A Requiem Mass will be said at St. Patrick’s Cathedral to-morrow morning, and the interment will take place at Taumarunui on Wednesday.
