PRINCESS
COMEDY WEEK Inasmuch as there are only two Gertrudes of any particu.ar prominence among the Sv;een actresses of
Hollywod, it is odd that both should appear in a single picture. They do. however, in “The Cheerful Fraud,” the Universal Jewel starring Reginald Denny now being shown at the Princess Theatre. Gertrude Olmstead plays the lead opposite Denny, and Gertrude Astor has a
prominent supporting role. “The Cheerful Fraud” was directed by William A. Seiter from an adaptation of the novel by K. R. G. Browr.e. “Babe Comes Home.” which Wid. Gunning produced for First National, with Babe Ruth heading the cast, is a comedy-drama with a sporting background, the mighty slugger demonstrating real acting ability in his role. The picture is also being shown at tli* Princess Theatre. Anna Q. Nilsson and Louise Fazenda are featured, while Ethel Shannon, Arthur Stone, and Lou Archer share supporting honours in the cast. The story was adapted from Gerald Beaumont’s “Said With Soap,” and it treats with bubbling comedy a touch of pathos now and then, and real human interest throughout, of a love affair between a girl in a laundry and a famous baseball player. Tod Wilde directed “Babe Comes Home.”
