MAXIM BRODI'S CONCERT
NEW REGENT CROWDED An excellent musical concert, organised by the Russian tenor, Mr. Maxim Brodi, under the auspices of the Auckland Zionist Association, attracted a big house to the New Regent Theatre last evening. The programme was well varied and two fine instrumental trios were played by Messrs. Francis Bate and Eric Waters and Miss Isobel Lang-
lands. Miss Langlands and Mr. Bate also played violin and ’cello solos. Mr. Brodi’s superb voice was heard at its best in selections from his repertoire. Miss Etta Field, the wellknown soprano, sang “Ave Maria” (Masc-heroni) and an aria from “Cava 11 eria Rusticana.” “Modern Palestine,” a film of the rebirth of the Jewish nation, was also screened, incidental music being played by the Moore Sisters.
