Avondale May Join on Thursday
MERGER WITH CITY SPEEDING UP ACTION The City Council Finance Committee met this morning to consider he Avondale amalgamation question, and decided to telegraph the Minister of Internal Affairs in 'an endeavour to secure the consent of the GovernorGeneral to authority which would enable amalgamation to take place as from Thursday next. The details of the amalgamation were not discussed, the principal consideration being given to the urgency of the position, which will also be represented to the Minister by the Avondale Council.
