fE large crowd of spectators who remained loyal to the round ball code were rewarded with a splendid display of Soccer. North Shore, who are second on the ladder, inflicted the first championship defeat on Thistle by 1 0 after a hard and thrilling tussle. Navy won comfortably from Onehunga by 3—o, and Northcote secured full points from Y.M.C.A. by the odd goal in five. Ponsonby won the Chatham Cup-tie at Huntly by a splendid second-spell display against Rotowaro, and is now in the semi-final for the national club trophy.
