PIPE BAND FOR AUCKLAND ENLISTMENTS ROLL IN r pHOSE who love the skir-r-r-l of -*■ the pipes will be hearing them soon enouah in Auckland. At a meeting

last evening, over which Mr. H. Anderson pre sided, it was decided to form a pipe band. Mr. J. Ewan is temporary secretary, and the officers will be elected at a further meeting to

be held on September 1. The suggestion that a band should be formed was made first in the correspondence columns of THE SUN, and “Cruachan” with other of the correspondents were present at last night’s meeting. There are already 12 pipes and three drummers on the list, and a canvass will be made for funds.
