EAST TAMAKI NOTES

FAREWELL TO MR. AND MRS. R. RAWSON A large number of friends of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rawson and familymet in the public hall on Wednesday evening to bid farewell to the guests of honour, who are severing their connection with the district. The hall was very prettily decorated for the occasion with blue and gold streamers, and a large amount of greenery decked the walls. The musical part of the evening’s entertainment, was supplied by Mr. Tidmarsh’s orchestra, and dancing was kept up to a late hour, everyone enjoying themselves to the utmost. During the evening*humorous items were given by Mr. Alan McElwain. The Rev. Mason briefly bade the guests farewell on behalf of their many friends and wished them health and prosperity in the future. Mr. A. A. Wilson also said a few words, eulogising the good work the family had done in the district, Mr. Rawson being secretary to the East Tamaki Library. Mr. Tidmarsh replied on behalf of the family, in place of Mr. Rawson, who is at present in hospital, and thanked them all for the many good wishes expressed. Mrs. R. Rawson, Miss Zoe Rawson and Mr. T. Rawson were present. During the evening a dainty supper was served by the ladies of the district.
