NARROW ESCAPE AT NEW LYNN
FALL BETWEEN CARRIAGES A narrow escape from death occurred at the New Lynn station last evening. T. Russell, a passenger on the 5.53 o’clock train from Newmarket to Henderson, fell between two carriages while the train was in motion. He was dragged for some distance, but escaped with bruises and a bad shaking. Mr. Russell is a resident of New Lynn. As the train was pulling into the station he slipped from the platform of the carriage on which he was riding and fell. Fortunately for him the train was not travelling fast at the time.
