Choir Contests at Competitions
SCHOOL STANDARD HIGH AN ATTRACTIVE SECTION That school choir singing has attained a high standard in Auckland was very evident from the excellent work done in the schools section at the afternoon session yesterday. Owing to tbe Heifetz recital at the Town Hall there was no evening session, and as a result only two of the afternoon items were decided. The choir section attracted a large attendance, and considerable interest should also be evinced in this evening’s session when the final decisions will be made. The elochtionary classes, particularly the character recital in costume for children under 10, were also well up to the high standard set the previous day. The results are as follow: — JUVENILE CHORUS Mixed Voices. Standard IV. and Under. Unison Song: “All Through the Night" (Boosey’s National Songs), and round, own selection.
