“GETTING HIS OWN BACK”

CARPENTER’S THEFT LOCKS INSTEAD OF WAGES WHEN Henry Taylor, a carpenter, could not get money due to him from the Marris Hall Construction Company, he stole seven locks valued at £1 18s 6d, the property of the company. That this was unwise he found when he appeared at the Police Court to-day and pleaded guilty to a theft charge. Accused said that the company had gone bankrupt owing him £BO. “I took the locks because I wanted to get a bit of my own back,” he said. The magistrate, M.r. F. K. Hunt, showed his disapproval of the act by fining him £3.
