The following is the Wellington team to play Manawhenua, the Ranfurly Shield holders, on Saturday:—Malcolm, Elvy, South, Svenson, M. Nicholls, Johnson, Kilby. Porter, Oliver, Claridge, Emerson, J. Shearer, Taylor, Pringle, Edgar. Emergencies: Ramson, Rushbrook, McHardy, Thomas. Seven of this team have previously represented New Zealand, viz., Elvy, Svenson, Nicholls, Johnson, Porter, J. Shearer and Pringle. The latter played for Netv Zealand against New South Wales in 1923, and narrowly missed a trip with the 1924 All Blacks.
