Now Haven’t We Heard Something About This Before?
The Council of the New Zealand amateur Athletic Association is going to take steps to endeavour to stir up activities in Auckland, says a Christchurch writer. Despite the fact that amateur meetings have been held in Auckland throughout the winter, it is reported that the centre is lax in its administration, and that the sport is not on a sound footing in that district. Certainly amateur athletics does not seem to have made the same progress in Auckland that it has made in other centres, and the council's action is in consequence of the revival of cash sport in the Northern district. M’yes. we seem to remember that no winter meeting was held last week. Rather a coincidence that the races were on, too.
