MISSING PLAYERS
POOR SOUTH ISLAND ENTRY Though the entries for the New Zealand Championships include all tne New Zealand title holders, and the pick Of the North Island players, they are nevertheless rather disappointing, especially so far as the South Island is concerned. Ken Ross, E. Macfarlane, Seymour and quite a few others might have been expected to put in an appearance, but Wanganui is sending as many players as all the South Island. 1928 CHAMPIONSHIPS The position is found to have some effect on the 1928 location of the championships, which will be discussed at the annual meeting during the chamnionsliips in Hamilton. The possibilities of the 1928 event going to Dunedin seem to be fairly remote and there may be some criticism of Christchurch, apart from the poor support given North Island tournaments. Apparently there was a very poor set of social or any other activities, outside the actual provision of a course on which to play the tournament, when the open event was last played at Shirley.
