BURGLARY AND ARSON

CHARGES AT WELLINGTON KILBIRNIE SCARE Press Association. WELLINGTON. Wednesday. Reference was made in the Police Court to-day to the recent incendiary and burglary scare in Kilbirnie, when a man named Perry came before the court. Counsel for the accused said that he understood that several charges, including one of arson were to be made against his client. Perry would plead guilty to theft but not to any of the charges involving arson. The police said there had been an epidemic of burglary and arson in the district,- and on that ground asked for substantial bail, as feeling had been running high. The magistrate fixed the amount at £4OO and one surety of a similar amount.
