STRAND

“LONE WOLF RETURNS' To-morrow, at the Strand Theatre, a short farewell season will be given by the Bon Bon Revue, called the “Request Programme.” This programme contains a varied selection of the items which have proved so popular during the company’s appearance here. They will be seen at their best and brightest and will include in their programme several of the shoyt sketches which have never yet failed to keep the house roaring with laughter. June Mills, the little lady .with a ton of pep, will again prove her ability as a comedienne. Wyile Watson, Will Gilbert, George Edwards and William Innes will all contribute excellent items toward this hilarious programme. May Webster and Maurice Jaffey will again sing in that delightful manner which has made them so popular. Arline Paterson, assisted by the Bon Bons, will give many dainty exhibition dances, while the items to be given by Robert Roberts promise to far eclipse anything he has done before. One of the fastest adventure melodramas of the season, “The Lone Wolf Returns,” will be shown at the Strand Theatre to-morrow. The story, which is an adaptation by Columbia Pictures of the famous Louis Joseph Vance novel, treats of the reformation of the master crook, Michael Lanyard, through an accidental meeting with Marcia Mayfair, a New York society girl, while he loiters behind portieres in her boudoir in an effort to evade the authorities. It will be remembered that Bert Lytell created the character of the j ‘’Lone Wolf” for the screen several I years ago, a circumstance that rei suited in an especially fine interpretation of the role in the current production. No truer portrayal of this difficult character could possibly be given than that outlined by M,r. Lytell • in “The Lone Wolf Returns.” The .element of mystery, the spirit of adventure, the romantic and, in fact, picturesque qualities of the story are grippingly projected in Columbia’s master production of a great author’s work.
