CHARGED CASE DISMISSED (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. In the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, a motor mechanic named Charles Zainey, was charged with the theft of 19s. the property of a Waharoa farmer, Alexander Wiggins. In a statement to the police Zainej' said he received a cheque for 19s from Wiggins, who stated in a covering letter that the amount was payment for benzine purchased on a visit to Hamilton, and for which he had forgotten to pay. He did not know Wiggins and could find no entry under that name in the books of the filling station of which he was then proprietor. He had cashed the cheque to make sure it was honoured before issuing a receipt. Wiggins had subsequently demanded the return of the money, stating that he had received a bill for benzine from the firm from which he had actually purchased it. in dismissing the case, Mr. Wyvern Wilson accepted the assurance that there was no intention of dishonesty and said it was more a question of civil action.
