LATE MR. J. B. FINLAYSON
Mr. John Bell Finlayson, of Bracken Avenue, Epsom, who died at the age of 63, was born in Invercargill and came to Auckland 58 years ago with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Finlayson. Entering the retail boot trade, he was in business for many years. Though he was of a retiring disposition and took no part in public affairs, he was, in early life, well-known in aquatic circles as a keen yachtsman. An active member of St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Khyber Pass, he held office as an elder for a long term. About 30 years ago Mr. Finlayson married Miss Margaret Reese, who died 18 years ago. Mr. Finlayson is survived by one son, Mr. John Finlayson, and three daughters, Misses M., J. and E. Finlayson, all of Auckland.
