“THE CHEERFUL FRAUD” ON FRIDAY Considering the story of the picture is set in England, the cast of players appearing in “The Cheerful Fraud,” the Universal-Jewel starring Reginald Denny, which comes to the New Regent Theatre on Friday, was a most appropriate one. Reginald Denny, the star, was born in London and started his brilliant career as an actor there. He comes, moreover, from a well-known theatrical

family, and liis father, William H. Denny, was one of the most prominent stage stars of his day. His sister, Mona Denny, is now playing on the stage there. Emily Fitzroy, who plays a prominent role in “The Cheerful Fraud,” was also a prominent stage actress in London, th© city of her birth. Coincidentally, she played in the same company with Denny’s father in several productions. Charles Gerrard, the comedy villain of the picture, was born in Dublin, attended university and started his career with th© famous Abbey players of that city, later going on the London stage, and eventually taking up a screen career in America. “Tli© Cheerful Fraud” was directed by William A. Seiter from the novel by K. R. G. Browne. “The Cheerful Fraud” will also be shown at the Princess Theatre commencing to-morrow.
