SATURDAY'S RUGBY
HAWKE’S BAY MATCH LOWER GRADE FINALS Except for the Hawke’s Bay match, the only Rugby football played on Saturday will be lower-grade finals, between Grafton and Ponsonby. Otahuhu and Ponsonby and Grey Lynn and Eden. Should the ground be not fit for a curtain-raiser, one of the above matches will not be played. At present the Rugby Union is strenuously endeavouring to recondition the ground with somewhat belated turfing. Hawke’s Bay meets Wanganui today, and the team arrives at Auckland on Friday morning. It will unfortunately be without M. Brownlie, C. Brownlie and G. Conrad, three leading forwards. No Pollard Cup fixtures will be played on Saturday. HAWKE’S BAY TEAM The Hawke’s Bay touring team is as follows: — „ „ , Backs: G. Yates, W. Huxtable. J. Blake. B. Grenside, E. Te Ngaio, T. Corkill, \\ . Edwards, L. Anstis. „ „ Forwards: E. Single, S. Gemmell. \\ . Wilson, R. Steero, C. Campbell. J. Swam, J. Gemmell, IT. M. Strachan, W. Hefteinan, W. Barclay (captain). The backs are practically the same as those which played Wairarapa.
