AUCKLAND FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION MEETS
LAST NIGHT’S BUSINESS At last night’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Football Association, a letter was received from the Thistle Club suggesting that, owing to the state of Bland - ford Park, matches should be played elsewhere. A discussion then took place concerning the playing of a match at Blandford Park next Saturday. It was decided that the ground would not be used if it was in an unfit condition. I and matches would then be played on Victoria Park instead. A. Wood, Northcote, was regraded from senior to second grade.
An appeal by North Shore Club against the decision of the Junior Management Committee that the sixth grade game between Comrades and North Shore should be replayed, was referred to the New Zealand Council. A deputation from the unemployed requested that a match should be arranged for their benefit. Mr. Menzies suggested the deputation should approach the other codes, Rugby, Leagu o and Hockey, with a view to arranging a combined Saturday at the Domain. “I think we should all get together one day in the year,” said Mr. Menzies.
