RIVER BOARD MEMBERS DEPRIVED OF SEAT

Press Association. BLENHEIM, Monday. An extraordinary vacancy has been caused on the Wairau River Board, Mr. R. Ham, one of the Omaka subdivision members, having been deprived of his seat on technical legal grounds. An opinion has been given that as Mr. Ham held a lease of certain of the board’s reserves along the Wairau River, in the vicinity of Conder’s Bend, he was not legally entitled to retain his seat on the board.
