CLEARING HUTT ROAD
VEHICLES ABLE TO PASS SPOIL USED FOR FILLING (Special to THE SUN'.') WELLINGTON, Monday. The work of clearing the big slip that blocked the Hutt Road recently has progressed sufficiently to allow traffic to pass safely. Large sections have been removed at each end, and a sufficient width has been cleared between the cycle track and the slip to allow vehicles to use the road Again. Spoil is in keen demand about Wellington for filling and levelling cn private properties, and half-a-dozen lorries are running all day to and from the slip. Each load so taken away means cheap filling and a direct saving of the cost of clearing the slip. It will be several weeks before the roadway is completely clear.
