SUPPORT FOR BOARDS
SCHOOL COMMITTEE OPINION Press Association. OAMARU, To-day. The Oamaru North School Committee yesterday passed a resolution declaring the abolition of education boards to be a retrograde movement, not in accord with parents’ wishes, nor in the interests of education. “It involves depriving the people of the rights and privileges conferred by statute and enjoyed for half a century, and the committee emphatically protests against such without a mandate from the electors.”
