PADEREWSKI LIKES NEW ZEALANDERS

By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright NEW YORK, Saturday. PADEREWSKI, the famous pianist, was interviewed by a “New York Times” reporter, today, just before the latter sailed fer Europe. He says he asked the virtuoso which of the two countries—Australia or New Zealand—he liked the better during his recent tour. The pianist, with a gesture, replied: “Oh, New Zealand, New Zealand. Very much more than Australia. The people in New Zealand are nicer and more cultured.” M. Paderewski then explained that he had never been so sick in his life as he was during a storm in the last 12 days before his steamer arrived in Australia.—A. and N.Z.
