LATE MRS. M. A. FELLOWS

A Newmarket resident of nearly 50 standing and believed to be the olde't inhabitant of the borough, Mrs. Mary Ann Fellows, died yesterday at her home, Maungawhau Road, at the age of 9-* Born at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, Mrs. Fellows lived under four sovereigns. She married the late Mr. William Fellows at Tattenhall, Cheshire. Mr. Fellows decided to try his fortune in New Zealand and left his family to follow. In 1880, Mrs. Fellows, with her five daughters, came to the Dominion in the ship Wanganui, and settled in Newmarket. Her husband predeceased her 44 years ago. Mrs. Fellows is survived by three daughters, the Misses S. and A. Fellows, Maungawhau Road, and Mrs. F. Moore, Boyle Crescent, Newmarket. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
