Bert Lytell some years ago played the role of “The Lone Wolf,” the screen version of the Louis J. Vance mystery novel. Now he is starred with Billie Dove in the Master picture, “The Lone Wolf Returns,” a film of graphic incident and intense mystery. Mystery is the keynote of all Vance tales, and that quality has not been spared in this vitally gripping movie of crooks and the social world. This novel ran into nine editions after having been published serially in the “Cosmopolitan Magazine.”
