Wash-house Ablaze. —A wash-house attached to an unoccupied house, owned by Dr. W. H. Parkes, in Symonds Street, was seen to be on fire soon after midnight on Saturday. The city brigade was called out and soon extinguished the blaze, the flooring of the room alone being damaged. The house is insured with the New Zealand Insurance Company for £I,OOO.
