The Hon. C. T. Carrington, M.L.C., arrived from the South this morning. Messrs. O. T. Evans and R. Allen left for the South last evening. Mr. R- s - Gray, for many years chairman of the Hamilton branch of the St. John Ambulance Association, has come to live jn Auckland. Sir Harold Beauchamp and Lady Beauchamp arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., and Mr. E. D McLennan, M.P., arrived from Wellington by the Limited tiiis morning. Mr. T. K. Sidey, Dunedin South, has been granted seven days’ leave of absence from the House of Representatives on account of illness. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. H. E. Holland, is still walking with the aid of a crutch, and has not been in the House of Representatives this week. He is attending the meetings of the committee which is inquiring into the Samoan petition. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. A. • p. McLeod, resumed his place in the House of Representatives yesterday, having recovered from the; eye trouble for which he received treatment in a private hospital. HOTEL REGISTER Grand. —Mr. N.
