NEW ISLAND ST EAM E RS.-Mr. Corrigan, ono of the superintending engineers of Burns, Philp and Co.. Ltd., recently left Sydney by the C. and D. motor-ship Port Fremantle for London, in the interests of the company, to superintend the building of two new steamers. One is for Burns, Philp South Sea Co., and the other for other Island interests. The new steamers are of a small type, designed expressly to meet the requirements of the Island trade.
