“ABIE’S IRISH ROSE”
ON THE FILMS JAMES CRUZE AGAIN James Cruz, the man who directed “The Covered Waggon,” and “Old Ironsides” for Paramount, is slated to handle the megaphone in “Abie’s Irish Rose,” for which the Lasky organisation is reported to have made 300,000 dollars cash payment to the authoress, also an agreement giving her a generous portion of the box office receipts. No production details have been announced from the studio, as Jesse Lasky recently returned to New York to complete the purchasing arrangements. Cruze is now preparing to film a sequel to “Beau Geste.” entitled “Beau Sabreur,” by R. C. Wren, in which Esther Ralston will play a featured role.
