NORMAN McKINNEL

COMING WITH BOUCICAULT 'JJ' ORMAN McKINNEL, the famous English actor, will lead the company which Dion Boucicault will bring to Australia next month. They will leave in the Cathay on September 9. Norman McKinnel, was born at Maxwelton, Kircudbrightshire, Scotland, in 1870. He intended to be an engineer, his father’s profession, but the lure of the stage was too strong. He first appeared on a seaside stage in July, 1894. For three years he played in London with Beerbohm Tree. Later he was associated with Sir Henry Irving. He has played in scores of roles, and his fame is as great in America as in Britain. His favourite part is Morel!, in “Candida.” His hobby, according to “Who’s Who in the Theatre,” is rehearsing.
