Miss Mina Kronfeld and Miss Louie Gaudin left -Auckland yesterday by the Marama for a lengthy tour ’of Australia.

Mr. E. Casey*.divisional superintendent, North -Island Railways, and Mrs Casey returned to Auckland this morning after a visit to Hawera and Wanganui. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCHES ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD At the annual meeting of the Knox Presbyterian Church the session reported that there were now 142 names on the communion roll. The Rev. A. McDonald Aspland presided over a good attendance. The junior Bible classes. Young Worshippers’ League, Sunday school and other minor church organisations were in a satisfactory state. Good work was being done at Parnell by the Sunday school, great credit being due to the superintendent, Mr. W. Morrison, and his staff of teachers. The gross revenue for che year was £1,159, including £202 contributed to the jubilee scholarship fund, Dr. Gibb’s campaign, and £139 to missions and other church activities resulting in a credit balance. The ladies held a sale of work which realised £lO2. The sum of £IOO had been paid off the manse mortgage, which now stood at £7OO. This was the only debt on church property. Managers were elected as follows: Mesdames W. Fegan, W. D. Grant and Messrs. Gilmer, McQuarrie, Scarborough, R. I. Byers, H. S. Carmichael, G. H. Cornes, F. Hookey, E. Rishworth and X. Wood. WORK AT REMUERA Total receipts I for the year were £4.618, including the bequest of £3,300 by the late MrS. J. Crago toward the erection of a new church, stated the clerk of session, Mr. K. C. McLaurin, at the annual meeting of the Somervell Presbyterian Church. The membership was 248 and about 200 children attended the Somervell and Meadowbank Sunday schools. Reference to the hopeful outlook for the future was made by the Rev. J. Pattison, who also spoke of the early departure for India of the Rev. J. L. Gray and Mrs. Gray as missionaries. The services of the organist, Mr. R. J. Morris, and the conductor, Mr. T. Adams, were eulogised. The committee of management -were elected as follows:—Messrs. J. Ward, J. McKinley, H. Platt, G. R. Hutchinson and V. A. Hopkirk. Mrs. A. L. Wilson and Mrs. R. I. Allan were appointed to represent the congregation on the Ladies’ Orphanages Committee.
