BACHELORS’ POOL
HOLLYWOOD SYNDICATE There are five bachelors in Hollywood who have formed a pool, all of them agreeing- not to get married for one year. Any man who does so forfeits the amount he has deposited in the pool. At the end of the year the remaining bachelors divide the sum. The advocates of single blessedness are George O’Brien, now engaged in the Fox attraction ‘ls Zat So?” after completing his “Sunrise” role; Charles Farrell, playing Chico in “Seventh Heaven”; Richard Walling, appearing in “Slaves of Beauty”; Barry Norton of “What Price Glory,” and Clifford Holland, who makes his first prominent screen appearance in “Rich, But Honest.”
There may be some significance in the fact that the agreement .runs from April 1, 1927, to April 1, 1928. But all five Fox players declare there is no joker in the contract.
