STOCK PRICES FIRM AT FEUDING SALE

WETHERS MAKE 46/6 Press Association. FFILDING, Friday. The Feilding stock sale was held today in showery weather, which did not prevent a large attendance of buyers. The fat pens contained about 350 ewes. Wethers of good quality all through met a spirited demand. Prices were very firm at late rates, the biggest price for fat wethers being 46s 6d, for 12 very prime sheep. A line of prime ewes reached 3Cs 7d, and a small number of woolly, fat hoggets, 43s 6d. Store sheep were in short supply. No breeding ewes were offered. Some hoggets sold at late rates. The following prices were realised: Fat Sheep.—Lambs, 20s, 21s 7d, 22s sd, 23s 6d, 24s 6d, 24s Sd, 255, 26s 6d to 29s 3d; small fat two-tooths, 275; fat wethers, 38s, 37s 4d, 39s 2d, 40s to 46s 6d; fat ewes, 24s lOd, 27s 9d, 28s 3d, 28s sd, 29s 6d, 30s Id to 30s 7d; black face hoggets, 18s 7d, 18s 8d to 19s 4d. Store Sheep.—Two-tooth wethers, 25s 6d to 30s; small ewe hoggets, 23s 6d, 24s Id to 255; wether hoggets, 19s 9d, 21s 2d to 23s 9d; fat forward ewes, 19s 3d to 20s Id. Cattle.—A feature of the cattle yarding was three large pens of forward bullocks, which sold well. A large yarding of dairy cattle was offered, of fair to good quality, and sold well up to prices lately realised at clearing sales. Springing heifers made £4 ss, £5 10s, £5 15s, £6 Us to £8 17s 6d; heifers at drop, £8 10s and £9 10s; springing cows, £3 ss, £4 15s, £5 15s, £7 10s, £B, £8 5s to £lO ss; weaner Jersey heifers, £3 13s 6d, £4 8s to £5; mixed weaners, £2 14s to £3 2s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, £5 7s; P.A. yearling steers, £4; station cows, £2 2s 6d, £2 10s, £2 16s to £3 ss; station heifers, £3 15s to £4 10s; 3 and 4-year Hereford bullocks, £8 to £8 Us; 3 and 4-year P.A. bullocks, £8 to £9 5s 6d; medium rate cows, £3 15s, £4 to £5 2s 6d; fat heifers, £4 ss; fat bullocks, Hereford, £9 5s to £lO 2s.
