WHANGAREI HIGH SCHOOL BEAT OLD BOYS AT RUGBY
The .annual game between the High School, Past and Present, was played on No. 1 ground at Kensington Park before a fair crowd of spectators yesterday. • Both sides were strong and a good even game ensued, which was won by the present-day boys by 12 points to 8. For School tries were scored by Aim, Dobbs, Braihsby and Miller. The goal-kicking was poor, and no score was added from this source. For Old Boys, Webber and Abbott each scored a try, the former converting one of these. PUBLIC SERVICE DEFEAT BANKS On No. 4 ground, teams representing the Banks and the Public Service also fought out their annual match, which resulted in a win for the red tape division by 9 points to 8, after a hard-fought, even game. For the Public Service, O’Brien, Noble and Banks each scored a try, while for the financial institutions tries were scored by Jackson and Stedman, Potter converting one.
