The Hon. Sir Frederic Lang, M.L.C., arrived from Wellington this morning. Mr. J- S. Hiddleston left for the South by the Limited last evening. pr. E. P. Ellison. Director of Maori Hygiene, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. The Hon. George Fowlds returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. The Most Rev. A. W. Averill, Primate of New Zealand, returned to Auckland from Wellington by the Limited. The Hon. W. Stewart, M.L.C., returned to Auckland this morning from Wellington. Mr. J. Holdsworth, who has been visiting the South, returned to Auckland this morning. Mr. T. Bloodworth returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. J. F. Clarke has joined the staff of the guards of the Auckland division of the railways. Mr. Robert Allen, of Christchurch, who has been on a visit to Auckland, is returning home to-night. Bishop Liston, Roman Catholic Coadjutor Bishop of Auckland, left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. John Cecil Montefiore has been elected unopposed to fill the vacancy on the Te Awamutu Borough Council. Paymaster - Commander Fletcher, R.N., secretary to the Naval Board, returned to Wellington by the Limited last evening. Mr. E. J. Kelly was asked last evening in a requisition signed by the committee and prominent members of the Ponsonby Cruising Club to allow himself to be nominated as commodore fcr the 1927-28 season. United States Senator G. D. Goff, and Mrs. Goff, who arrived in Auckland to-day from Wellington, will leave to-morrow morning for Rotorua, where they propose making a stay before leaving New Zealand. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, who has been undergoing treatment and observation in connection with eye trouble, is expected to come out of hospital to-day.
