FAREWELL PARTY
Mrs. J. A. Cahill, of Norana Avenue, Remuera, was the hostess last evening: at a delightful farewell party given in honour of Mr. and Mrs. R. Youngs who are leaving to-day for a jvisit tc England. Mrs. Cahill, who received about 40 guests, wore a frock of orchid toned georgette. During the evening dancing was indulged in, and several songs were contributed by Mrs. lan Simson, who wore a dainty frock of black georgette trimmed with pillar-box red: Mrs. Youngs, whose l'rock was of powder blue crepe de chine; and recitations were given by Miss Linda Murphy, who wore a frock of green georgette with autumnal shaded appliques. Among the guests were the following:—Mrs. B. E. Bird, Mrs. G. Tollerton, Mrs. 11. Simson, Mrs. Congdon, Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Laird, Mrs. Byj water, Mrs. Woolcott, Mrs. McShane, j Mrs. Humphrey Clark, Mrs. R. Finlay- ; son. Mrs. Frost, Sister Hovie, Madame ! Edith Baird, Miss Linda Murphy, Miss | Molly Woolcott. Miss Mary McShane. j Miss Nora. McShane, Miss Laird, Miss j Congdon, Miss Neda Moses. A GIFT TEA A very enjoyable gift tea was given by Mrs. Hector Adkins, of St. Stephen’s Avenue, on Wednesday afternoon, for Miss Girlie Maslin on the eve of her approaching marriage to Mr. Jack Osborne.
Competitions caused a lot of amusement and the prize-winners were: Mesdames D’Arcy Folkard, J. Laird, and Hulbert; others present were Mesdames Osmond, Butcher Craig, Hilliard, Finnis, Lewis, Burmester, Richards, Brandon and King, Misses Maslin. Hennessey, Goldwater and Craig.
