ON THE 'CHANGE

N.Z. FERTILISERS AT 75/TIMBERS STILL IMPROVING Little business of any note was put through on the ’Change this morning. The tone of the market, however, is healthy, and. there is a good demand for most of the better classes of securities. Banks continue to stand well up in investors’ opinions, and steady sales are recorded on a firm market. In the insurance section there are firm buyers with few sellers. In coals, Hikurangi continue to harden, and most other shares in this section are in steady demand. Kauri Timbers continue to harden, and an improvement to 25s 6d this morning failed to draw a seller. Mining continues weak and generally idle. Waihis were dealt with in several small parcels at 19s 6d. In the miscellaneous section N.Z. Fertilisers, after a period of idleness, found a market at £ 3 3 ss, and several minor parcels were dealt with at tfrat figure. Government and local body bonds and debentures are quiet and mostly idle. SALES REGISTERED At yesterday afternoon’s call.—On 'Change: National Bank of New Zealand, £6 15s.
