EVERYBODY’S

TWO BIG PROGRAMMES The science of hypnotism is attracting the respectful attention of the profession and the thoughtful public. The many authentic and well attested accounts of its phenomena, which at times have been so extraordinary, and seemingly bordering so closely on the mirac.ulous, have aroused intense interest in them. It is therefore easily seen what a great theme this subject makes for a photoplay, and in “Love Is Blind,” from the celebrated Ufa studios, which is now being screened at Everybody’s, hypnotism comes in for a good deal of the story. Mile. Dagover, who makes her debut to local picture patrons, is a delightful Continental artist, and plays the part of the neglected wife with all the artistry of the Continental actress. She is supported by George Alexander as the erring husband, Conrad Veidt as the doctor practising hypnotism, and Lillian Hall-Davis, the beautiful English actress, as the “other woman.” The whole film is calculated to be of especial interest. A new accomplishment has been added to Bebe Daniels’ varied athletic prowess. She’s the world's champion glass thrower. In her new Paramount picture. “A Kiss in a Taxi,” which is also being shown at Everybody’s Theatre, she plays Ginette, the tantalising waitress of a Montmartre cafe. Each patron seeks to kiss her, but all advances are met with a rain of tumblers, goblets and wine glasses. Consequently, Director Clarence Badger found his production one long riot.
