PAEROA PROGRESS

GENERAL BUILDING ACTIVITY The Criterion Bridge. over the Ohinemuri River at the lower end of the town, which is to replace the old one. is now being pushed ahead in real quick time. The last flood caused considerable delay. A deal of anxiety will be relieved when the bridge is finished, as the old one, although only of about 20 years* standing, is not considered too safe. Since the hotels have been reopened Paeroa seems to be moving ahead by leaps and bounds. The borough council has recently granted several nermits lor new buildings, which are being erected in brick and concrete.
