LATE MR. RICHARD KEENE

Mr. Richard Keene, of Prosper* t Terrace, Mount Eden, who died suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 68, had only recently moved to Auckland from Wellington. Coming to New Zealand about 43 years ago, Mr. Keene settled in Wellj ington, where he carried on housebuilding on an extensive scale. Later lie became a land-owner and at one time held 150,000 acres of land, including the Parenga estate, at the North Cape. For several years he was a member of the Wellington City Council. Mr. Keene is survived by his wife and seven sons.
