TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB

ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT The club-house of the Takapima Boating Club was gaily decorated last evening for the annual distribution of prizes won last season. Painted scenery lined the walls and coloured balloons and streamers made a very festive scene. The function was in the form of a dance, and about 100 couples were present. The commodore, Mr. P. G. Eason, welcomed representatives from the other clubs. The prizes were presented by Mr. W. Blomfield, vicepatron. The presentation of the Cornwell Cup for the Takapuna 12ft 6in class, which was won by I. Masters and J. D. McGregor, was a feature of special interest. Among other trophies handed over were the Blomfield Cup, won by Kitty, and the Burnett Cup, to the owner of Joy. Kitty was one of the largest prize-winners, being awarded two firsts and a second, in addition to the cup.
