ON ’CHANGE

BETTER BUSINESS KAURI TIMBERS 25 3 A decidedly brighter tone is registered on the local 'Change. Yesterday afternoon saw a considerable increase in business. To-day’s feature has been the improvement in Kauri Timbers, which were dealt with at 25s 3d. Other timbers are quiet, but any tendency is upward. Banks are in good tone and frequent sales are recorded. In the miscellaneous section, Wilson’s Cement command attention and sales are recorded at 34s 3d. Auckland Amusement Park has improved to see buyers in at 13s with no sellers. Alining is depressed and idle. Hikurangi Coals continue in good tone with a firming tendency. Renowns are weaker, with sellers at 6s 6d and no buyers. Most other coal shares meet with a firm demand. The market for gilt-edged securities is quiet with little business reported.
