TOO MANY CREEDS

RELIGION IN AMERICA ENGLISH BISHOP’S VIEW By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright LAUSANNE, Monday. In a speech the Bishop of Gloucester, Dr. A. C. Headlam, said America had far too many rival religious bodies, whose doctrines were but narrowly separated. The bishop advocated the creation of an organised territorial ministry in America, which would enable religious ministrations to be available to everyone. In an allusion to Mexico Dr. Headlam condemmed the action of Protestant churches in a country who joined an anti-clerical State which prohibited Roman Catholic schools. Educational freedom was essential to Christian liberty, he said. —A. and N.Z. —Sun.
