BANANA PASTIES

Take one cupful of self-raising flour, one tablespoonful of sugar, a pinch of salt, and baking powder, a teaspoonful of vinegar, and a quarter cupful of good dripping. Rub well together until like crumbs, and add a little water. Mix into light dough, then roll out thinly, and cut into strips. Place a quarter of banana in each roll over and pinch the ends together Bake in moderate oven a light brown, then sprinkle each pasty with sugar. They are delicious served with custard. Two bananas cut and quartered will make eight pasties.
