BEHIND THE SCENES
SECRET NEGOTIATIONS By Cable Press Association.—Copyright LONDON. Monday. Messages from Dublin state that all sorts of negotiations are proceeding behind the scenes in connection with the political crisis caused by the Republicans taking the oath of allegiance and the no-confidence vote to be moved in the Dail to-morrow. Whether or no there will be a new Government in the Free State entirely hinges on the attitude of the members of the National League. The leader of the latter. Captain Redmond, is prepared to help the Labour Party and the Fianna Fail to put out the Government, but he insists upon earmarking certain portfolios for members of his party in the new Executive Council. The leader or the Labour Party, Mr. Thomas Johnson, obstinately refuses to commit himself to any arrangement in advance.—Times-Sun.
