PRIESTS ARRESTED
ACTION BY FASCISTS INTRIGUES ALLEGED By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright ROME, Monday. The newspaper “Osservatore Romano,” the organ of the Vatican, reports that the Fascist authorities have arrested five priests who hold high positions in the diocese of Udine, north-east of Venice. The paper says it does not know the reasons for the arrests. The Turin newspaper “Gazzetta del Popolo” says the arrests are owing to anti-Fascist intrigues, which the authorities could not tolerate any longer.—Times.
