SANDERS SCHOLARSHIP

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY ALTERATION PROBABLE As a result of the Government subsidy being given on condition that it be used for general endowment examinations for the Sanders Memorial Scholarship in future will, in all probability be held every three years instead of annually as at present. The conditions laid down by the trustees of the Sanders Memorial Fund stipulate that the income from the fund shall be employed in the provision and maintenance of scholarships for the benefit of the children of members of the mercantile marine service or of the Royal Navy resident in the Auckland Provincial District. The annual value of the scholarship may exceed, but shall not be less than, the sum of £75. Each scholarship is tenable for three years, but the term may be extended for a further year. Applications for the scholarship arc now being called for.
