The Polazzo Boboli in Florence, Italy, the favourite villa of King Emanuel, was secured by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for exclusive use in the filming of the Daphne Grove scenes for “Ben Hur.” The Polazzo Boboli is famous throughout Europe, and is surrounded by cypress trees 300 years old. Ramon Novarro. Francis X. Bushman, May MeAvoy. Betty Bronson, Claire McDowell. Nigel de Brulier. and a host of other famous players are in “Ben Hur.” Fred Niblo directed the mighty epic.
